Bob & Donna Cormier
Bob and Donna were both born in Nashua, NH; Bob in 1954, Donna in 1955. They were married in 1981 at Infant Jesus Parish in Nashua. The Cormiers have two children: Todd, age 28, graduated with a BA degree in Journalism from Northeastern University and will complete his MBA from Boston College in December 2015; and, Brian, age 24, graduated with an Associate's Degree from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Cambridge, Mass.
Donna works at the Hollis-Brookline Middle School in the Food Service program. She joined the parish in 1981. Bob has been President of Cuoco & Cormier Engineering, a civil engineering and land surveying firm located in Nashua, since 1983. Bob joined St. Joseph the Worker Parish in 1979.
Donna and Bob have been very active parish volunteer workers. Donna has been a Eucharistic Minister since 2000. She is part of the Hospitality Committee and oversees Holy Hour, Easter Vigil, Confirmation and First Communion refreshments, set-up and committee volunteers since 2005. Bob has been active in the parish as a member of the Finance Committee for 3 years; Parish Council for 1 year; Lector, 13 years and Chairman of the Steering and Building Committee for 5 years. Currently, Bob is a member of the Facilities Maintenance Committee and is a collector at the 10 a.m. Mass.
In the community, Donna has been very active with the Boy Scouts of America. She is District Membership Chair for the Daniel Webster Council, Arrowhead District. For ten years she was Co-Den Leader and Pack Trainer for Hollis Pack 12. Donna was also Hollis Troop 12 Committee Chair for 6 years. She is currently Den Leader of Pack 255, St. Louis deGonzague Church and has been involved with the Scouting For Food Program for many years. Her volunteer involvement also stretches to the Parent Teacher Student Organization of the Hollis Brookline High School for 8 years. She worked on the Garden Committee to build a garden area with sidewalk in the rear of the high school auditorium. At Hollis Brookline Middle School, Donna was also a member of the PTSO for 4 years and held the position of Volunteer Coordinator. A member of the Hollis Elementary School PTSO for 9 years, she held the position of Volunteer Coordinator for many years. She Co-Chaired many school events including the Toy Yard Sale for 12 years. Donna was also involved with the Hollis Brookline Rotary Club as “a friend†and helped with the Super Bowl brunch for many years. Donna is currently active on the Hollis 5K Road Race and has been for several years and is also an active Member of the Hollis Old Home Days Committee and Silent Auction Committee.
In the community, Bob was Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop 255, St. Louis deGonzague for 2 years; Scoutmaster and Committee Chairman, Troop 272, St. Joseph Church for 3 years; Assistant Cubmaster, Cubmaster and Webelos Den Leader, Pack 12 in Hollis for 7 years; Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop 12, Hollis for 11 years; Scout Merit Badge Counselor, Arrowhead District Chairman for 5 years; and Daniel Webster Council, Executive Board for 5 years. Bob was also on the reorganization team of Pack 255, St. Louis deGonzague for 3 years. Currently, Bob is Unit Commissioner, Chairman of the Nominating Committee, and Friends of Scouting Team member for the Arrowhead District, Boy Scouts of America. He has also assisted with Eagle Scout Service projects and Scouting Food Drive since 2013. His volunteer work extends to the Town of Hollis, NH as a member for 19 years and Past President of the Hollis Brookline Rotary Club. He has worked on many community service projects and fund raising activities including; Nashua Soup Kitchen, Roadside Cleanups, Elderly Service, Library Assistance, Memorial Day activities and .Old Home Days support. Bob also served the City of Nashua as a member of the Nashua Senior Center Building Committee and as a coach for the Nashua Youth Soccer League for 7 years. Currently, Bob is a member of the Association Doucet, Inc., a Youth Service Organization; and, a Director of the Nashua Builders Charitable Corporation which supports the Nashua High School Trades Program. He is also currently involved in Career Days/Career Guidance at Bishop Guertin High School, Hollis Brookline High School, Nashua High School and Hollis Elementary School.
Bob is currently a member of the Hollis Building Code Board of Appeals since 2008. He was also on the Hollis Roads Committee for 2 years. He served as a Technical Advisor for several Hollis projects including: Library Expansion, Town Hall handicap accessibility and the Lawrence Barn Community Center. Bob was an Assistant Coach for the Hollis Little League, Cal Ripken and Babe Ruth Baseball for 13 years.
If all of this is not amazing enough, Bob is currently on the NH Coastal Risks and Hazards Commission established by NH Legislature to make recommendations to Seacoast communities and state agencies in preparation for climate change (appointed to Commission by NH Homebuilders Association).
